You will need a minimum of 4 Lifepo4 cells to make one 12v battery.
If you buy 4 X 100Ah cells you can make a 12v 100Ah battery.
Should you want to increase voltages and amp hours you will need a minimum of 8 cells.
It is good practice to use a battery shunt/monitor which are listed here.
Choose a suitable BMS for your battery pack.
This device keeps your batteries in good health.
For a 4 cell 12v 100Ah battery you will require a 12v 100 Amp 4s BMS.
If it's 8 cells for 12v then you will need an 12v 8s BMS and so on.
If you have 8 cells, you can make a 24v battery!

Cells are usually shipped with busbars, but double check! If not you will have to fabricate your own or buy them. These are used to join the cells together.
You will need ring terminals, battery terminals and suitable crimping and wire cutting tools as listed below. You may also need a good soldering iron. Check out this page!
Your going to need electrical wires of a suitable size / gauge that's rated for the battery voltage and amp ratings for your battery and don't forget fuses. You can get "PURE" copper cable kits here, do not buy cheap cables! Cheap cables are mostly aluminium and not pure copper.

Add a Fuse From Battery Positive wire to inverter. This fuse should be placed as close as possible to the battery. You will need to cut the main wire, add some terminals and your all set. Size the fuse to the wattage of the inverter. Example a 12v 3500w inverter will need a 350a fuse. (3500 / 12v = 291 X 1.25% = 295 rounded up) to 350 Amps
You need good copper busbars to connect your battery cells.
If you are planning on running 12v lights etc you will need a Fuse Block. You can also fuse the solar charge controller using a 30A fuse to this block.
Although it is not required, it is useful to have an idea of what power your system has. This battery monitor will show you capacity available etc
